Have you, or is it possible anyone else has....
- dropped this netbook computer, or dropped anything on it, or subjected it to a physical jolt otherwise ?
- spilled liquid on it, or exposed it to liquid such as rain, or sprayed it with liquid ?

Has there been a power failure event while the computer was plugged into the AC adapter ?
A nearby lightning strike ?

Most laptops have a key combo that disables / enables the touchpad.
See your User's or Owner's manual.

E.g. On an Acer model I have you hold down Fn , then press F7, let go of both keys.
The F7 key has a blue icon that looks like a hand with an outstretched finger over the outline of a touchpad.

Thank you so much for your reply to my dilemma. I used the FN key & F9 key trick and then rebooted my computer and it worked. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Your advice was most helpful.

Have a great day; and, again, thank you.
