why won't my 2002 Gatway let me upgrade my memory dimms?
The memory is most likely incompatible. Check your system specs. also you can use the memory configurator at www.crucial.com
AS Gretti says, go to crucial.com and run their memory configurator and it will tell you what you have and what you should purchase to upgrade. Then you just need to decide if you want to purchase from them or copy down the information and get it elsewhere. If you do not understand the differences between similar memory, you may be better off just ordering what they recommend from them. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
