Without getting into all the specs for that MBoard I would say that it is in the same price range as many 775 mATX boards. Below is a link to the offerings at Newegg.com for all Intel 775 boards. There are four screens priced between $50/75.
It's mATX as opposed to ATX. Another reason could be that the chipsets are Intel G31 and Intel ICH7(I'm not sure about that), there is only PCI express slot and no onboard firewire. On the other hand, you get onboard video-probably not that good, but you don't need a video card right away, and onboard video can come in handy at times.
Firewire is only useful if you have hardware that uses it. Some of the likely candidates are Camcorders and some external drives. There are other devices but that is what came to mind.
Nothing is wrong with them. mATX MBoards are usually associated with budget builds. Integrated graphics is most times included for more savings. That said, you generally don't find all the bell and whistles on mATX baords. If yu don't care about the bells and whistles then go for it.
Decide what processor you intend to use and design a system around that.
Look at the feature set of each offering that can run your chosen CPU. Now determine what features you need and which boards include those features. Then post back with 2 or 3 choices. Folks here may advise you to stay away from some brands at that time.
You probably should post what you are primarily going to use the computer for in order to get better advice.
It's based on the P965 chipset which was THE best Intel chipset before the P35 came along. It overclocks like mad & will easily reach 1333MHz FSB & higher.

I agree with OtheHill in response #9. I was just giving the reasons why I thought the mobo was cheaper, not that you shouldn't buy it. While you can certainly live without firewire, the chipsets used are more important. Maybe someone else can answer what's bad, if anything, about Intel G31 and Intel ICH7.
I think you're in way over your head. You need to school yourself on hardware or you're gonna end up building yourself a half-ast system. The G31 is a budget chipset (northbridge) & the ICH7 (southbridge) is slower than the newer ICH8 & ICH9.
I doubt you know much about overclocking so you'd probably be better off getting a board that officially supports 1333MHz FSB. I highly recommend getting a board based on the Intel P35.
And definitely invest in a good power supply.
