Solved Why is 1080p display not working properly in Dell XPS15

May 17, 2016 at 20:51:34
Specs: Windows 10, i7 Q2610 / 6 GB RAM
I have a Dell XPS 15 L502x with 1355*768 display. Recently my display got faulty and I had to replace it. The display installed was LG LP156WH2 (TL) (A1). Now I have replaed it LG LP156WH1 which is an 1080p display. Now the display is working but not properly. I mean I have reinstalled all of the video drivers still its not working properly. Even after running at full resolution, the folders, text etc seems pixelated. Although I'm not able to see pixels when I play videos. What might be the reason for this?

It's probably because that screen is not compatible with the Dell XPS 15 L502X.

Just because it's the same size (15.6-inches) doesn't necessarily mean it's the right one. The pixel density is different.

The original screen was not 1080p so replacing it with a 1080p screen may have been unwise.

Did you manually change the screen resolution setting to 1920 x 1080?

✔ Best Answer
As riider suggested, try 1920 x 1080 resolution. According to the Dell link below that laptop supports that resolution.
