Why does the system hangs at random?

Specs: Windows 8.1
Reboot the system, POST is good. Removed all extra devices only have keyboard, mouse and monitor.
There was no change in the action.
Pulled memory sticks one at a time, got the same
result. Did this for all four memory slots with no changes in the final result

Is this a new build? If not, is this a new problem with an exiting system that previously worked right?

No not a new build it was on a system that worked fine.

Try running CHKDSK. See the link below.


Also check Device Manager to see if anything is hinky there.

I usually do NOT allow Windows Updates to feed me any hardware drivers.
