What other browsers do you want. If you want Firefox for example just download it and install it. You can make either it or IE your default browser.

What do you mean "nothing else will download"? If you want to use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, simply go to the Mozilla website, download Firefox to either your desktop or My Doucments folder, then when the download is complete, simply go to the file & double click on it to install. You can get Firefox at the following site:

If that's too difficult, just click RUN in the box that pops up right after you click the "Free Download" button on the Mozilla website.

I'm curious, what is it that you don't like about Internet Explorer?

It isn't a secure site... most hacked browser because most people use it. More viruses and spyware are written for it so I have heard from Tech-support people....

and i am sorry, they do download but don't connect. ??

I am helping a friend with her computer. I have helped our neighbors with their computers and have cleaned them up and advised them of how to use an anti-spyware This one has many viruses but because it is said to have a corrupted/missing file I will probably reformat. ?

If you're overly paranoid about viruses, spyware, malware, etc, switch to Linux.

If you wanna clean up your friends computer, don't use garbage retail programs such as Mcafee or Norton, try Micrososft's free Security Essentials.

If I get an extra machine, I would like to put Linex on it. I would love trying it out. But when I am helping someone else, I don't like changing the system they know.

I am placing Microsoft Security Essential on this friend's computer. I use it... I love it!!

This friend's computer had Norton on it a few year's back I see and I am convinced it and Internet Explorer are giving me the problems and (I kid you not) the 700 plus viruses that I removed with Super Anti-Spyware, Malware Bytes and the Microsofft Melicious Removal Tool. But... I still can't connect to other browsers and Internet explorer won't close without Task Manager and I have to re-boot many times before the system will start... ??
