Specs: Windows 7, 4GB (2,96GB useable)
My music on windows 7 professional cuts off after, 5, 10, 15 (it varies..) minutes. No matter if I'm playing it from My Music or I-tunes.My laptop is attached to a docking station i-tec USB 2.0 and connected to external keyboard, mouse, speakers and external hard drive. If I just play music on my laptop (for example when I travel), I have no problem. Please help! Thanks! Simonwarsaw.

Sounds like it's something to do with your dock (brilliant deduction eh?).

- Check the laptop dock connectors on the dock and on the laptop for damage.

- Is the laptop secure on the dock (does it move, wobble)? If yes, there usually are dock locks (slide levers etc) to lock the laptop into place.

Thanks for your help. But it's not exactly a docking station, it is a multi-usb port adaptor. Any ideas?

Sounds like a power (lack thereof) issue.

Most laptops have settings to conserve power. It changes if on wall power or battery power and what percentage of battery power is left (reserve). Go into control panel to change these settings. Be carefull as extended use causes heat to build up, especially if you disable power savings totally.

Simon,

In order to maybe give you a solution, I'd need to know exactly how everything is set up with USB on your laptop. Sounds like you may have too many power hungry USB devices using only one USB port (?).

EDIT - added link in response #3 above.
