Solved Why do not my CPU Fans stop after the computer shuts down?

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Intel Core i5 2500K / 4GB RAM
I have the Intel Desktop Board's DH67CL motherboard. The problem is my fans never stop after I shut down my PC. There is no power given out from USB Ports as the mouse laser light and the keyboard lights go off. But the light on my Power button on the CPU and the small green LED on the motherboard seen by me through the fan openings do not switch off and fans still run. How much ever I wait, these things never stop. The last option is to press the power button for 5 seconds for a force shut down (which makes the lights off and the fans too) or to directly switch off the main supply.

How do I fix this? I never had this problem years ago with Windows XP!

Was it the same motherboard with XP?

Have you a copy of the manual for the motherboard and perhaps the whole computer?

Are you sure you're actually choosing "shutdown" rather than standby/sleep; or hibernate?

Since you can force it to shutdown by holding down the switch the bios must think it's still running. If you're not actually in a standby or hibernate mode then check the windows power options as well as any that show in bios setup.

Don't forget to preorder your Hatch green chili for this fall. Many vendors ship world-wide.
