Your motherboard just may not support that type of card. There are cases where diff motherboards won't support some graphic cards. I had that problem with my old Athlon Xp motherboard. for some reason I couldn't use an FX 5900, but a ATI 9800 worked fine. you try flashing your bios? there may be an update that fixes it.

I wish you would call your CPU what it is & stop calling it an "ATHLON XP 1.8". It's a 2200+. This is what is says on the ABIT site about your board: "Accelerated Graphics Port connector supports AGP 8X/4X (0.8V/1.5V)" So it *should* support your card without any probs. I assume this card has been tested in another system & it works fine? Jam - There are (or were) some issues a while back with some of the GF cards and abit boards. I had one way back with a KT7A-RAID board not wanting to work with a GF3 that a flash resolved nicely. BTW - couldnt agree more on the speed naming conventions, I bet alot of people don't know how that works.
