I am planning to change my video card because my video card is noisy. My video card right now is x1300 and I hate it becaues of the stupid fan.

Here is what I am picking between:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...

or

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...

I know that the NVidia one doesn't make noise at all, because I listened to it on a friends computer, plus its a big card, but I am more interested in the ATI one since I've been using ATI Video Cards for a while on my computer.

Is the ATI Video Card as big as the NVidia Video Card and how much noise will will the ATI make compared to the NVidia?

Hello, Kay Tee Pren Tiss.

The HD4850 is easily the best choice. It's faster than the 9800GTX, and according to this, it's quieter, too.

The creme de la creme of Socket 939:
Opty 185 @ 3.2GHz
SLIed GTS-640s both flashed to 625/1458/1950
4GB PC3200
Blu-Ray/HD-DVD, X-Fi
A8N32-SLI Deluxe
DIY 1080p projector

That's funny, I would hate it because it's a piece of sh!t...lol. Why would you buy from TigerD when Newegg has several HD4850 models for $170-175?

Hmm, Interesting. Thank You guys for the link and the Info!

Jam, the prices are like the same, but theres more choice in Newegg.com

jackbomb, this isn't Kay Tee Pren Tiss, but I do remember seeing that name somewhere in these forums.

Would it be better if I just get the 4870 or would the 4850 be good enough for the future, if I am also planning to do gaming as well?

No, the TigerD prices you posted are both $200 + shipping. Newegg has the PowerColor HD4850 for $170 after rebate w/free shipping, so you'd be saving somewhere around $35.

That's quite a leap from a low end X1300 to a high end HD4850. The X1300 has a power consumption of about 30W, the HD4850 has a power consumption in excess of 100W therefore it requires a 6-pin PCIe plug. Is your PSU capable?
