I am about to buy a new inkjet printer...I don't like HP's photo printing because it puts these lines in the picture, I have bad luck with Lexmark, I was considering Cannon, but I have had one friend tell me how WONDERFUL epson is, and another tell me how horrible epson is.... please give me sugguestions on what brand printer to buy. thank you

I own the cheapest canon made s300 and it prints good pictures when set to photo paper and quility. But it drinks ink like my old Wagoneer drinks gas. If you move up canons ladder to the printers that have more than 2 ink tanks you may get a good printer that drinks less ink.They can be set to gray draft as well to conserve color ink. I used to own a early lexmark and then changed to epson 740, it printed well and the photo quality was good with no banding BUT it was noisy and every time I turned it on it whined and clunked while it charged the ink, two days ago I replaced the epson for a lexmark Z55, it cost me £89.00, the photo quality is good and the speed of text prints is extremely fast, and its alot quieter than the epson. Do a search on google and type Z55 reviews

With the HP printer, if the lines you mention are thin black lines going across the page, this is caused by the resolution of your foto. The resolution must be a whole number, no point (.). If it is say 358.7, then you will most likely get the lines. This happens quite often when resizing with Resample Image un-checked. So long as the resolution is a whole number, I have had no problems with HP printers.
