Specs: Windows NT
Have an old Compaq LTE 5000 running Windows NT. It has 2 PCMCIA slots. How can I find out if they are PCMCIA I or II? I need to purchase a PCMCIA USB card and want to be sure I get a compatible one. Appreciate help.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find the answer on the HP web site.

Compaq LTE 5000 Family of Personal Computers Beyond Setup

I searched for PCMCIA

"One Type III card slot that supports one Type III card or any combination of two Type I or Type II cards"

Thank you very much. I found the manual on that same website with the info I needed. Just finished downloading it to my computer when I got your reply to my question. Thanx.

Your issue is more a 16 bit or 32 bit card.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Makes no difference...you are not gonna find a 16bit PCMCIA USB card anywhere.

Like jefro said, you need to determine if you have 16bit or 32bit capability. If 32bit, you're good to go.

Back to the Compaq website...
