FX4100 support DDR3 1866 memory but as u can see DDR3 1600 MHz isn't supported but if used the board will underclock it to DRR3 1333 or DDR3 1066.
If FX4100 is used in one of these boards u will loose performance.Also because of dual channel never buy one stick of ram, start from 2 sticks and go upward.

I have very little knowledge of hardware and doing this the first time to learn. I would like to order everything from flipkart.com as I am in India and I just can't find a good match for an AMD processor. This is for my father and the usage is very basic - mostly web surfing and sometimes a few movies. Budget is $300-400. Which AMD, mobo and ram do you suggest
