I did alot of research on what socket 939 mbob to get, and If I did my homework correctly I assume that Dfi would be a very good choice? The help I need is which type/model of mobo? I cannot decide on the

1.DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert

2.DFI LANParty UT nF4 SLI-D

3.DFI Lanparty UT RDX200 CF-DR

4.DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 Ultra-D

I did not realise that there are this many choices of the lanparty to choose from, so I would like to ask anyone that has theses mobo`s that could give me some advice?

Im not a huge gamer, but I do like to play sport games, racing games, but nothing of the high end nature. I have a nvidia 6800gt vid card, and Im hoping to do some overclocking too.....

Im thinking of starting off with a opteron 146 until I try to gain some experience with the overclocking thing, or I was thinking on a dual core opteron?

Hopefully your video card is PCI-E & not AGP, otherwise you're gonna have to regroup & start your research all over again.

If it's a PCI-E card, have you considered a socket AM2 system instead? Or do you already have some DDR RAM that you wanna reuse?

Those are all good boards (pricey though) but you should scratch #3 off your list due to the ATI chipset...& if you have no intention of ever running SLi, go for a board based on the Ultra chipset. There are other choices that are every bit as good as the LANParty, but not as expensive. If you look at the benchtest comparisons, you'll see that boards based on the same nF4 chipset all perform roughly the same.

Yes, its a pci-e. I have 1gb ddr 500. when I did my research on the ram, most of the advice was to go with what I have. I don't mind spending a few bucks as long as I`m getting good quality hardware. I was personally leaning on 1, and 4. Oh! yah!. I will consider the am2 mobo`s, but I guess Ill have to do more reading to find out which mobo is a top contender.

Thanks man for da help.

You already have the DDR500 so an AM2 system is out of the question, unless you wanna buy DDR2 RAM?

The nF4-SLi & nF4 Ultra perform the same, obviously one supports SLi & the other does not. SLi boards are *usually* more expensive. If price isn't a problem, you really can't go wrong with any of the nF4 boards you have listed.
