How can I find which is my USB 2.0 port on my laptop?
Everest says I only have 1 and all the rest are 1.0
Field Value
USB2 Controller Intel 82801FBM ICH6-M - Enhanced USB2 Controller [B-1]

I need this to add a UDB to DVI adapter to to run a 3rd monitor.

Everest is probably wrong. But go to the support page for your model and see if it says you have both types. Or check the manual.

nope, I typed msinfo32 into the cmd line and it only shows up 1 as well. Seems bizarre to only have 1.0.
Having said that, I've never had the usb 1.1 warning come up on XP...maybe I've just never attached any 2.0 devices.

Unless they're marked as such on the case there's no way to ID them since they all look alike. But the manual should show which are 1.1 and which are 2.0.

What's the service tag number on that?

I guess I just plug a USB 2 device in and wait for the one that doesn't prompt me to switch...

Yeah, assuming it always alerts you I guess that would work.
