If you don't need SATA/RAID, I recommend this Shuttle board:

Otherwise, go with the Asus board over the Gigabyte

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

SATA (Serial ATA) is the latest advancement in hard drive interface. To use it, you'd need a SATA hard drive & of course, a motherboard that supports it. It uses a much narrower cable with just 4-wires, compared to the wide 80-wire ribbon cables that you're probably used to. Right now, SATA transfer rates are 150mb/sec, compared to 100mb/sec or 133mb/sec of "normal" PATA (Parallel ATA) IDE hard drives, but that will increase in the future.

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Independent Disks. I'm not very familiar with it but it's a way of combining hard drives to improve performance. They're seen by the operating system as one large drive, instead of 2 (or more) separate drives. I could be wrong, but I think it's kinda like dual channel mode for hard drives.

If the board supports SATA/RAID, then you can combine SATA hard drives for even better performance. If you don't need it or don't intend to use it, there are cheaper boards available, that's why I recommended the Shuttle board - you can get it for about $60
