hi i have uk broadband. i want a dialup as well as broadband. i purchased a Mentor USB modem but pc kept rebooting.the instructions do not say compatible with vista.does anyone know which usb dialup modems are compatiable with vista. thanks

Compatibility is a driver not a hardware issue. That is, no hardware is inately incompatible. It just depends on if drivers were written for Vista.. Go to the support page for your modem and see if they have a download for vista drivers.

hi looked for Mentor website. could not find it. found a website and downloaded DriverRobot_5setup. have run it but it want's to install 9 new drivers including the one for the Mentor modem. Do you think this would work as it says the drivers are suitable for hardware running on Vista? Thanks for your help Look forward to your reply

You need to subscribe to a dial up ISP. There are no free providers by me in Michigan and I would guess none by you either.

I wouldn't know which drivers are compatible and which aren't. I assume Vista is like XP in that you can set a restore point. I'd do that before installing the drivers just in case things get botched up.
