Hi there --

I'm looking to buy a 20" widscreen LCD monitor and am willing to spend about £350. I mostly use my PC for playing games, so I need a monitor that's gonna be good for gaming. I've done some research and am thinking about getting the Viewsonic VX2025, which costs about £340. Does anyone know of a better 20" for around the same price?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Best,

James

Did you know that the bigger LCD you buy the smaller the native resolution you get which aint always great for gaming?

I love it when I learn something new:-). BTW, Does the same rule apply for plasma? and am I right in saying that CRT screens are "better" for crump21 if he is gaming?

Thanks for the reply, XpUser. I thought it was the other way about -- the bigger the LCD, the higher the native resolution. Have I got things the wrong way round?

LCD monitors are driven at a native res, so make sure your computer can run games at a comfortable framerate at 1680x1050. As a proud owner of a VX2025 i can say it is fantastic for games and just about everything else too.

That site has an excellent set of real world user reviews.

Well if I learnt nothing else it's that I have a previously un-noticed single dead pixel right in the bottom left corner of my monitor!!! (courtesy of the link to 'Dead Pixel Buddy' on the site from Tautian - knew I shouldn't even have tried it :-( ).
