Reply: (edit)I saw a AGP slot pictured in my new motherboard's manual in a section showing the layout of my Jetway P4MFM motherboard-pit's brown colored.

Reply: (edit)Yep, the P4MFM does have an AGP slot. A basic vid card these days would be a GeForce 4 MX440 (64MB, try to get the DDR version instead of the SDRAM one).

Reply: (edit)Are you saying you cannot find your agp slot or that it is empty? Inside your pc are 2 to 5 pci slots. They are ususally white, maybe 1/4 inch wide and 3 inches long, and near the lower rear of your case. Above them should be one darker colored slot, which is wider and not as close to the rear of the pc as the pci slots. That's your agp slot. Since you made this post in the first place you may have on board video, meaning you don't necessarily need an agp card. Unless you play intense games, on board graphics are now at that the point that they are just fine for many of us. It comes down to what degree you require top end video We can help you better if you could post exactly what motherboard you have. Or if you say its a Dell xyz machine that will work too. Also let us know what video requirements you have, like on a 1 to 10 scale how much are you into games, do you want to watch TV on your PC, do you want to watch DVD or downloaded movies, etc.

Reply: (edit)etown - I do not know much about the performance of the Savage on board video you've got. The best thing to do is download a few mpegs and avi files and play them. Make sure they are not just 2 inches by 2 inches. If you have kazaa just do a search on Seinfeld and there will be plenty of files to try. When you play them, if they move smoothly like a TV set then you should be fine. If you can detect the frames changing, you will not like watching dvd's any better. The nvidia mx440 64mb imo is a good minimum card for movies and games. If you look at pricewatch.com under video cards, you will see what costs more and since the number of sellers is huge, the market is efficient and performance tends to go up smoothly with price. You get what you pay for on that front page of pricewatch.
