MB: Jetaway model number:v266b (via 266a)
MEM:786mbDDR
dvd drive, cd-rw.

Basically my old hd came up with a disk read boot failure. I get this one its detected fine, use xp boot cd to begin partitioning it. end of partition i get told its damaged or is not connected properly (ive checked connections) I decide to delete partition, wait for ages then get told I cant cos its damaged.
I restart though this time the disk isnt detected in the bios.
I restart and its back but nothings booting from the cd drive.
I restart everythings back but xp cd wont boot into itself properly, just hangs.
if i turn off the comp and leave it for a while i can get back in to the windows setup. but i cant do anything, the drive just isnt detected.
can anyone tell me what is wrong? I need to fix this fast.
