Solved Where to download wiring diagram for mobo model MCP61-PM-AM

Specs: Windows Vista
Bought a replacement motherboard, model MCP61-PM-AM, for my Gateway GT5656. I have 6 cables from peripheral components that I do not know which connector to mate them with on the mother board. Where can I download a wiring or connection diagram?

Also, will I have to download BIOS software? What and Where?

Finally, can I remove the "bios chip" from the original motherboard and insert it into the replacement motherboard.

Peripheral components would be mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer, etc. I doubt that's what you're asking about. Please explain.

As for the BIOS, if you bought a Gateway replacement board, the only think you may have to do is manually configured a setting or two. If it's not a Gateway board & you're still running the original pre-installed Windows version from Gateway, it's possible that Windows won't boot.

If it's an exact replacement motherboard the connections on the new one will be the same as on the old one. If it's different the motherboard user guide should help.

As already mentioned, the hard drive may not boot into windows if the motherboard is different.

If they're exactly the same I suppose you could swap the bios chips, assuming they're socketed and not soldered in.

Bios updates have to match the motherboard. You can't just replace a motherboard with a different one and then flash it with an update designed for the old board.
