Could someone please tell me if I can put a bigger power supply in a Sony Vaip Desktop Computer( Model PCV-RX572)? I can't seem to find anywhere that will give me the specifications on this model. I'm thinking that I need to get a larger power supply to run my ATI 9800Pro videocard. I have the processor overclocked to 1.9 ghz(Originally 1.8ghz) I think the power supply in this model is 250 Watts , but I'm not sure. I just seem to get alot of lag spikes when playing games. I think I need a larger power supply to properly push this videocard. Can anyone help?

Lag spikes online have to do more with your network/internet connection.
250 watts is pretty weak though.
You can pull the cover off your power supply and look at the rating sticker.
There are some utilities out there that can identfy hardware. I'm not sure if any of them list power supply specs.
Google a search for "unknown device identifier"There are some motherboard utilities that can be had as well that will monitor temps, and voltage. I don't know of any to recommend because I don't typically use them.

I'm experiencing these problems with playing games offline . Half-Life2, Doom3, Quake4,etc. Do you think if I had a bigger power supply , that it would allow my videocard to perform better?

I don't think a SONY can accept an "off the shelf" power supply...you're probably have to buy a direct replacement/upgrade thru SONY. Look at the rear of the case...if you know what a standard PSU looks like & how/where it bolts in, you should be able to tell if it will fit or not. If you choose a video card that doesn't require the PSU plug-in, you probably won't have to worry about the PSU upgrade.

Of course you'll have troubles running Doom 3 with a Radeon 9800 pro. Even with the lowest settings, you will still have at least a litte trouble running the games you listed above. Normally, lagging doesn't have anything to do with the PSU.

This is not true at all. My experiences with this card and game are just fine, I was able to play through the entire game (on lower settings, mind) without any large areas of slowdown. Only time it got annoying was with several enemies doing flashy effects at once. On custom maps I could fight several large enemies (Hellknights, cacao demons, etc) without any fps drops. Bosses were fine as well, even the Cyberdemon.
