Hey i have a older laptop (compaq armada e700) and i am trying to see if i can use it as a xbox live wifi adapter. With it i am using a alltel huawei wireless card to get on the internet. I have done everything to it trying to get it to work but i realize that there is no local area connection icon in the network connections and when i plug in my xbox it still does not show up what should i do.

On the Compaq you need to setup Internet Connection Sharing.
You need an RJ45 Crossover (Xover) Cable, between the Compaq and XBox.
On the XBOX set up as receiving a LAN Connection with a DHCP Server

would the cord that came with the xbox work also i have a toshiba satellite 1200 and the same thing happened and that was that there was no local area connection icon when connected. Could this be the ethernet port driver not working. O wait a have a 10/100 LAN cardbus for the compaq and when that is plugged in there is a icon for a local area connection when that is plugged in but i can not find a cord that goes in it.
