I was tinkering with my old PC, trying to make it better. Now it can run well with Win ME by increasing its RAM, also it can read 20GB hardisk. Unfortunately, its VGAcard is an obsolete product but recently I found its 'update' using the same chipset (Tseng) and it works well! One thing I still cant solve: the OS cant detect my soundcard. It is AD1848KP/ISA (obsolete too! what a woohoo..). The manufacturer recommends to replace with AD1845, a current compatible model, but still doesnt work. I changed the card with Crystal and OS did autodetect. I placed AD1848KP in other PC (Celeron) and it cant do autodetect too. Maybe my card is out of order or..?

What motherboard do you have? If it's an old socket 7 with Intel chipset, don't run over 64mb of RAM, it'll hurt your performance.
Also, you'd be better off running Win98 on that old system, rather than WinME.
It won't detect that old soundcard, but that's common with ISA cards...just download & install the proper drivers & you'll be OK
