Comment: Hi, My Hard drive having problem( Fujisu MPG3409AT E) -- it can't boot up, system says can not detect it. But if I leave it for about a day then some times it can boot up again. If I keep it runing it has no problem, just can reboot or restart it. Can some tell me what's wrong and what should I do to fix it. Thanks in advance

Reply: (edit)Buy another drive and set it to slave , if you go to manufacturers site ie western digital (if one drive is their brand) you can download Lifegaurd which will let you clone the drive .On next boot press F11 and select the new drive to boot from and hey presto you will have new drive with Xp on. If you remove the old drive reset the jumper on the new one to master. I have two drives with xp on both , just in case.

Reply: (edit)Hmm, check if the connections are okay? I had that problem somewhat; it would boot up and recognize the hard drive as "Maxtor`````````````````````" and it would not recognize it in WinXP. So reboot, unplug/replug seemed to fix it...
