Do you really expect anyone to be able to work out what you're talking about from that???
It sounds like some kind of adaptor (I worked that out from this bit:
"..its some kind of adaptor thing.." :-) ), maybe if you tell us what it actully does (or what you want it to do) it may help.Wizard ICT. Microsoft Certified Professional

Yes laptop hard drives have a connector block attached to the ide pins, this is to align the laptop ide connector with the hard drive, usually are part of the hard drive caddy.

does anybody know where to order one of these things?
a URL would be most helfull...
heres what im talking about wizard, its kinda hard to see in the picture but its the only pic i could find.

and0r,
In the future, expressing what you are trying to accomplish would cut out all this rigamarole you know. Had you simply told us you are trying to convert a 2.5" HDD to a 3.5" device - a "bracket kit" would have been suggested & all this would have been over with a long time ago.

nope, sorry thats exactly NOT what im looking for or trying to do.
i am looking for the black rectangular plastic part the red arrow in the pic is pointing to. im not trying to use a 2.5 inch as an internal 3.5 in an ATX tower.i need that plastic peace so i can get this laptop harddrive into this laptop i have waiting for a harddrive! O_o

You need to go to the laptop manufactures web site. They are all different, even between different models from the same manufacturer.

I answered in RESPONSE3
'usually are part of the hard drive caddy'
All laptops have a carrier/caddy to hold the drive, what have you done with yours as the end connector is not enough.....

i just need the end connector, not the caddy. its a black peice of friggin plastic, thats all i need... does anybody know what its called? ANYBODY???1/?!?/1/1/2;ljo3hw3iotiu
a link would be most helpful.

Older IBM laptops use one of these, Its a proprietary connector ibm dose not use it for newer laptops. If you do figure out the name its going to be hard to find.

OH MY GAWD!!! you peoples!! its not proprietary! its on alot of diffrent laptops! from toshiba, to imb to HP!!!
NOBODY KNOWS WHERE TO GET ONE OF THESE? DO I HAVE THE COMPUTING.NET FORUMS STUMPED????

Yes, Einstein you do at this point of the evening !!!
Maybe these, all seem different to me!!!
