Specs: Windows XP
I bought a new compaq c700 battery on http://www.hplaptopbatteryadapter.c... a pity, it can't be charged.I want to know how to find out the reason of it, whether it is caused by battery or the charger instead through a test.

the charging indicator light remained glowing on but can't be charged at all!!!!!

This laptop battery worked well the day before yesterday, but it was dead the following day.

I kept using the battery, it can last at least one hour even used to play games

the result is, it's dead, wuwuwu,,,,I want to know what's going on it and learn to avoid this problem the later days, begging help!!!!!!!

The URL link you posted contains invalid data at the end. Once I'd figured that out I got the page to open.

This is the correct URL with invalid data removed: http://www.hplaptopbatteryadapter.c...

The battery is not a genuine HP replacement (which you can only buy from HP). It's a "copy" which may be poor quality (that's why copies are cheaper than the geuine HP ones).

If your laptop works okay from the a/c adapter then it's safe to assume it's not a faulty adapter.

Hi Sylvia, Phil's advice is good.

A replacement battery should supply:-
a) same volts
b) same or (preferably) higher amps.
c) same number of cells ( I do not like those with more, as there is more to fail)
as the battery it is replacing.

It sounds as if the new battery is not holding a charge long enough.
Did your old one perform longer?

The link goes to a website which has a online support and customer service facilty. Would suggest you ask their advice on how to proceed.

The price, $62.21, seems excessive, as here in the UK, a battery for the C700 costs £15-20 up.

Please advise back on progress.

Good Luck - keep us posted.
