Hi, i am thinking about purchasing a really godly gaming laptop and i was wondering, which one of these are better, and which one is more bang for its buck, ill give you the links to check them out
The Dell M1710 (farthest to the left)

or the Aurora mLAX

First off, I am not really in to gaming, but to me both of them seem to be over-inflated prices. With the dell, for the base $3213 they do not even give you a DVD burner and the hard drive capacity is only 100gb. The Alienware for the base price of $3999 only comes with 1gb of ram and a 100gb hard drive. I can buy a laptop for $1000 or less that has both a DVD burner and a 160gb hard drive.
Also, "if" you decide to go with a Vista option, beforehand verify all of the Games have been tested on Vista.
I've dealt with large screen laptops (we bought three for the company I work for.) Initially they seemed like a good idea (largely for the greater screen area/resolution.) It is now to the point that they are rarely used...due to the large physical size (traveling and using them in planes) and also the extra weight (total extra weight can be up to double a 14 or 15 inch laptop.)

Look at the Alienware m9750, its got two 7950's in SLI with the alleged ability to upgrade to 8800's when they come out. Its also very thin.

There was recently a poster here with an alienware that had problems. the poster thought they needed a MBoard. A used MBoard on ebay was like $400 US. Others here stated alienware has a bad warranty record. I suggest you Google for both those laptops and see what comes up from users.
Build yourself a kickass desktop and buy a used car with the left over cash. A link to that thread is below.
