CPU/Ram: Pentium III 866

Hi.

What would get better performance and why:

Intel Celeron-II 1.4 GHz "Tualatin" CPU with 256K L2 cache

OR

Intel Pentium III 1.4 GHz "Tualatin" CPU with 512K L2 cache.

I generaly use my computer for playing games (i.e. Empire Earth, Unreal Tourtment, Dungeon Siege, Sim City 3000 ect.), surfing the internet, word processing, and reading e-mail.

Thanks.

The PIII is definitely the better option. Celerons are designed to be inexpensive chips that don't have the power of full Pentiums. Plus, double the L2 cache is going to help a lot, too.

the pent 3 easily is the better choice, more processing power than the celeron and the level 2 cache at 512 is more powerful for graphics and gaming and such.
