I am wanting to buy more ram for my computer. I have a computer that is probably about 3 years old and I am wondering what type of ram I have so I can make sure that I get the right type for my computer. Thanks for any suggestions.
Bart

Go to weattack.com and dl aida. It's a freeware program that analyses your system, also your ram type.
It also give you hints to improve system performance.

Bart, you would be better off to check and make absolutely sure of the RAM type you have, but you've probably got PC66, PC100 (this is the most probable) or PC133 RAM.
If you have PC100, you can use PC133 to upgrade, it will just speed down to 100 Mhz in your system....
Why don't you remove your current RAM and take it to the computer shop with you, that way you'll get the right stuff, and if you don't, you have someone to go back to (obviously, if your buying online, this won't work).

If you open your tower and look at the RAM already installed on your system , it should say on the RAM stick , what kind of RAM your system is using ! Good Luck,Nick
