I need help finding out what kind of processor I need. here is the Info I have so far.
Mainboard: Intel Model WL810E
Chipset: Intel i810E
Southbridge: Intel 82801AA (ICH)What else do I need to know and how do I get that info. Please help. I am computer illiterate.

First, if you're running Windows XP Professional, then 64 MB RAM isn't going to do it, regardless of the cpu. I think you probably cannot use anything more than a Pentium 3, though I'm really not sure. Are you doing this yourself ? I don't see why you want to bother with an old system like this, unless you want to play around with it and learn something. For whatever you would spend to make this work, you could get something far better for the dame money.

Hoover,
a google search using your Motherboard Model number turns up nothing encouraging.
"Intel Model WL810E"
Appearantly the CPU is a 600Mhz Celeron, which is not a disaster, but not an advantage. Ram upgrade may be more problematic. Your Motherboard will support up to 512 mb (256mbx2), which is good, however it requires a specific PC100 chip (very old) that may be difficult to find.
One link referred to this as a "POLISH" as in Poland Motherboard,
You could do much better for relatively little cash, IMHO>
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

Check table 4 on page 17 after downloading this file (right click and choose 'save target as'):
http://download.intel.com/design/mo...
Those are socket 370 cpu's and not slot 1's.
There'll be other info there about memory and setting up the motherboard.

Any socket 370 cpu should be supported with the 810E chipset. The biggest quirk with the chipset is that if you use a cpu using a 133 fsb the best the memory can run at is 100. Ram is your first priority.
