Is it better to leave a computer & monitor on standby for up to 2 hours at a time OR just turn the system off/on.

What damages it more?

There are some who never turn off their PC.

XP has a 'hibernate' function that will power off the PC and yet save its last sate such that a rebott is reduced to less than a minute.

If you are converned with heat etc, then choose to hibernate if you are going to be away from the PC for much longer than 1 hour.

If you leave your PC on for 2 hours you won't notice any damage. I leave my PC on for days and it's fine.
