Solved What & how does usb port in DVD player operte?

Specs: Windows XP
I've a Sylvania DVD player with a USB port & I am wondering if i can hook up my computer to it & view pics movies etc. on my TV ?

You can put jpeg pictures and possibly videos (check the user manual for which formats it supports) on a flash drive and view them on your TV.

The owners manual would have given you all this information.

Yep, the USB port is intended for a flash drive (or possibly external USB hard drive) to access media copied to those drive for viewing through the DVD-player. Depending on whether is DivX-compatible, there may be a variety of formats the DVD-player may be able to play...

Surely what is required here are the makes and full models numbers for both TV and DVD player.

Having these would enable one to be more precise when replying.

Yupper seems to be suggesting connecting all 3 devices in a daisy chain, which may not be necessary.

I understood modern tv's generally can accept input directly from dvd players, pc's, i-pads etc.
