What hardware to watch 1080p movies?

December 22, 2009 at 05:25:30
Specs: Windows XP, 2.657 GHz / 766 MB
I want to be able to watch 1080p movies, and wondering what the required minimum specs would be to be able to play it back fully with non-choppy framerate.
right now i have WinXP 2.66Ghz 1GB ram
Radeon HD 2400 (256mb)

what would i have to upgrade? ram, processor, or both?

cause 1080p movies won't play for me, its 2-3 frames per second

Thank you for advice/opinions

It would help to know your complete system specs. You list 766MB RAM in the top section, then 1GB in your post...which is it?

What exactly are you trying to watch & which media player are you using? Have you installed the lastest XP codecs?
