I am a bit confused abt the whole High Definition. Please help me undertsnad it.

I know the High Definition TV means more pixels in every line on the image displayed on screen. This helps in viewing videos on bigger TV.

But what does it mean when they say a Movie theater is HD or Imax is going HD.The theater screen size isn't gonna change and the movie being displayed is gonna have the same resolution.

A bit of a sales scam.

Movie film has a fantastic resolution and has so for maybe 50 years. I doubt you have ever notivced any grain in modern movie screen presentations or any Imax shows.

It would save the movie industry millions each year if they didn't have to make so many copies of each release. Look at the size of the Imax film. I think it is something like 8 inches per frame. Each film is like a monster truck tire size.

Now to replace it does take a lot of data.
