You went from one crappy motherboard to another. Do you have DDR2 RAM & a power supply with a 24-pin ATX plug? You're gonna need them for the Biostar board. A PCI-e video card would be a good idea too...the onboard Chrome9 is one of the worst IGP's available.

But you're still left with an outdated single core P4 & poor performing board with zero CPU upgradabilty.

hi

folowing the biostar link,

if the cpu is the SL7L5 part number then it should drop into the mobo no problem.
id read this review about the Foxconn G31MV-K
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/arti...
only two memory module slots 1 pcie x16 , 1 x pci.

how about this budget mobo, plenty of upgrade room for a few $ more

The CPU isn't the problem...those Core 2 based Pentiums overclock like mad. The problem is the motherboard. You said you just bought a video card so why get another crappy board with onboard graphics?

How about this combo?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Combo...

You should be able to easily overclock the E5200 to 3.0GHz at 1333MHz FSB or even 3.2GHz at 1600MHz FSB.
