CPU/Ram: 2.6 HT P4 / 2 GB DDR
Comment:

I have a 2.6 HT P4 CPU / 2BG DDR Dual Channel RAM on
an Intel Mobo 478 socket. I need to upgrade to a 64 bit
machine to use some new software. Can I just get a new
mobo and CPU? If I do that, can I just hook my HD and
everything up to it? I am a bit of a Noob when comes to
the hardware stuff.

Ya, new board and CPU should do OK.

yes, you need to get a new motherboard and CPU. If you still want to use your existing memory, then you have to make sure that you get a new motherboard that supports DDR, not DDR2

anything?
