With my last 2 graphics cards, they have been supplied with a small DVI adapter, i think it's a VGA-to-DVI adapter. I was just wondering what's the point in these? My graphics card has both 15-pin VGA and DVI connectors, and my monitor is a 15-pin CRT, and I was wondering what the use of the adapter would be - just curious :)

Thanks

Alex

Those are used if you need to connect TWO analog displays. You should use the primary port first anyway. If you have an analog monitor you will need to use the adapter to connect it.

Adding to that.... Othill is talking about running a dual display desktop, two screens at once. I've done it. Plug a second monitor in and Windows will give you a second screen in display settings and you can choose what you want to do with it.

I have my desktop on primary and the tv/dvd's run out to the projector on the secondary. Works very well.
