I have been using my Motorola RAZR V3 phones for 4 years now. They had the best battery life at the time I was choosing. Old phone that is not a smart phone. Very thin to fit in pocket. From the pricing I see for used phones they are still popular. My wife has had no problems at all with hers. I have broken the outer lens 4 times by carrying the phone and change in the same pocket (don't do that anymore). I bought the lenses for cheap on the net and installed them myself. Also bought spare batteries for cheap. Check out the link below for an example.
My wife and I also have the Motorola razr V3's. I've had them a long time. They are very dependable and have a wide range. I just use it as a phone. No internet or data, but it has those capabilities if you want.
