Yeah G'day there, look my 40GB Western Digital HDD has got a problem, its says that I have only 629MB of free space from the available 37.2GB. Now this seemed strange so i did some calculations and found that i should have only used about 19-20 GB. I installed JDiskReport and they backed it up for me saying that i have only 20.0GB used on the HDD. I recently reinstalled XP on the Hard drive so maybe this has something to do with it, but the other times iv reinstalled XP there hasnt been a problem. Any help would be appreciated. What file system you using, NTFS or FAT32? Open Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management. See if there is any unused partition space. If you ahve an older drive with XP on it boot from that, check the drive & partition it with the above. My advise to all. Even on a 20gig drive you should always partition it, move My Documents & all important files over to the any of the other partitions. TweakUI for XP will move My Documents & a few other folders for you.
