I wish to know your opinion about choosing between Maxtor HDD or Western Digital HDD.

Both are good...just shop for your best price.
Get 7200rpm, 8mb cache, ATA100 or ATA133
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

I havent baught any drives untill lately, I baught a 80Gb 7200RPM 8Mb Cache Western Digital hard drive and I love it. It is very quiet and very quick. I was going to buy a Maxtor but it was a bit more expensive.

AMD K-7 600MHz & Asus K7v
256Mb SDRAM
80Gb WDC, 8Mb Buffer
128Mb ASUS Radeon A9550
Cyber Drive CD-RW DVD Combo
Spirit TV tuner

I would prefer WD over Maxtor.
In my experience, WD runs queiter and and faster, plus i had one for like 5 years with out any troubles, but then one day decided to go bad.
Maxtor's (to me) seem to run a lil bit noisy and do not seem to last as long. I went through three of them before my WD died.
But i perfer Seagate, more dependible, and i have not seem many of them die over age. The one i have is nearly two years old and it's still running like the day that i bought it.

WD is way better as far as life span. I wouldn't buy anything else. In my small server I have a very old 6GB WD HD from 1997. Been runing non stop for the past 2 years. I can't beleave it. I have a 80GB WD in my gaming rig that I bought about this time last year. I also have a brand new sealed 200GB 7200RPM 8MB cache WD that I will sell you for a $100 USD.
