this is all to common and i have read lots about it, i have updated all the via, nvidia drivers.
i get the common BSOD with nv4_disp.dll error.
i was playing Halo fine for a few days now, after i just got the game, and i went bak to play it and the system locks up and goes to BSOD. now I can play any game.
i tried halos website, DirectX, nvidia, manuf of vid card, via..
does anyone know if all these drivers are up to date and good, the card still does not work or should it work with all beeing updated?

and the same lock ups occure when i test direct3d draw in dxdiag.. so therefore i cant test it.
and would it just be better to send it back and get a ATI card?

Personally, I would say yes.
I no longer trust nVidia, and from now on will always buy the ATI equivalent, despite nVidia "claiming" theirs is margially faster, etc.
By the way, I'm not just some raving ATI fanboy, I've never even owned an ATI card (yet, give it a few days) and if any other GPU makers come along and become competitive I may consider them too, but never nVidia again. Also, there are many others who share my views.

I can't disagree with TrevD. I don't think I should have to put up with a surprise like this. I've seen posts suggesting different combinations of drivers to "solve" this problem but, I wouldn't be willing to go through all that when I figger it should work out of the box.Skip
