I have 3 small spots on my laptop screen that appear brighter than the background, and show up on a white or light-colored background. They've been there for a while, and it's rather annoying. I'm wondering if this is water damage, though the spots are grouped near the center of the screen, and it seems unlikely that water would get in there without damaging areas nearer the edge. There is no distortion of the image under the spots.
How "big" are 4hese spots. It is not uncommon for LCDs to get pixels that get stuck in the always on or always off state. I don't believe there is any way to fix it if that is the case.
If it is due to stuck pixels then you will want to check your warranty (if still valid). Most warranties will have specific criteria on when service/replacement will be conducted for stuck pixels. For example it may require that there are x numbre of stuck pixels in a specific region of the screen.
