I just bought a Samsung HM100JC 2.5" hard drive yesterday. I

tried installing it on my Fujitsu Lifebook P7010D but it

couldn't be detected from the BIOS. I cross tested both the

HM100JC and the P7010D on different laptops and hard drives

and only the "HM100JC + P7010D" combination would not work.

Does anyone have any idea of what problem could have occured?

I do have one laptop drive lying around here, that works fine in a desktop--with an adaptor--but abosolutely will not work in any of my Thinkpads.

Update:

Just tried again installing the HM100JC on the Lifebook P7010D. When I powered on the computer, I could hear nothing from the hard disk. It seems like a power problem. But again, the interesting thing is other hard drives have no problem in getting power from the same laptop.

Can you configure the drive parameters in the BIOS manually?

I've tried . . . but it still wouldn't detect the drive.
