Comment: Hi everybody, Quick problem, im not sure how complex it is or whatever so here it is. Don't hesitate to ask for more information if it is needed :) I myself at home have a webcam, i can use it to chat to other people without any problems, all good. One user is in a college and behind a proxy and im unable to establish a connection with her when trying to initiate a video conversation through Windows Live Messenger. Would the proxy have anything to do with it? It may be worth noting that i can connect to her when she is using the same system when she is away from the college. Is the proxy the reason for this? Is there a way around it? Are there any other alternatives i have to have a video conversation with her? Thanks in advance. Perrymatta.

Reply: (edit)Highly likely the college has blocked use of the chat programs. many do. attempts to bypass the blockage are very likely to be detected and may result in punitive action by the college administration. basically, their network...their rules. I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Reply: (edit)Thanks for your reply Richard, Windows Messenger Live is function between myself and her at her college, we can also send and receive files from each other - it's just the webcam that doesn't work.
