Webcam question

I need to monitor an area at work after hours. I do not have much $$$ to do this.
Is there a webcam that comes with software that has a timer?
I would like to have it record for an hour or two in the middle of the night. I only need to see a small entry way and video quality is not all that important.
I looked up a few webcams online, but none mentioned a timer built into the software.

You may be able to use a cam that's motion sensitive like those annoying 10X camera popups.

Yeah, that was my first thought, but those are more money. I thought a $30-something camera would be good if I could set a timer to save hdd space.
Maybe someone else knows another way...

I have a logitech cam...it cost about $100 american. It has a "security" feature that allows me to leave the camera on, and it will record when it senses motion. I have never had a reason to use it, but the directions outline it clearly.
