Hi, I recently bought an Elecom UCAM-H1C30MSV to use with my laptop. Both products are Japanese and therefore I am unable to read the manuals or online support. I have run the installation programme and I get a message telling me that the process is complete. However, the camera has not installed correctly and opening the camera box within control panel there are no webcams listed. I have been able to locate what I think is the correct driver in my computer and yet the installation will not complete. I have dowloaded a new driver from the internet and this makes no difference. I would appreciate any suggestions!

If the webcam is plugged into a USB hub, it may not work.

If that's what it's plugged into, try plugging it into a USB port directly connected to a USB controller (e.g. directly into a port built into the laptop) - you may have to uninstall, re-install the software for it - if it then works and you don't have enough directly connected to a USB controller USB ports, you will probably have to buy yourself a PCMCIA USB controller card to plug the webcam into.

Other than that, sometimes you must install the software before you connect the webcam, sometimes you must plug in the webcam and then install the siftware - try whatever way you didn't try before - you may have to uninstall drivers already installed first (usually in Add and Remove Programs).
