Trying to use hdd as a pvr for fta stb. When I open usb on stb there are 6 folders shown. when I try to open I get not a dos file system. How do I get rid of these folders? Formatting and cleaning does not remove them.

fta free to air sat reciever is a stb set top box. You can record programmes on a HDD via usb. When I open hdd with stb it lists 6 folders marked C D E F G H. When I format HDD fat 32 it puts these folders on hdd. they are not in DOS operating system witch stb requires. If I open HDD with laptop it says there is nothing on it. The stb sees these files but laptop does not.I need to get 6 files off hdd.

What version of DOS is in use? Some version are able to access FAT32, some are not.
