WD Hard Drive -- Poof!

Specs: Windows XP
I was using my external drive yesterday and it started
acting sluggish - then I noticed about 75 folders worth
of music are missing (I'm a DJ). Most of the older
folders are still there - and I was even able to move a
file from the drive to my laptop desktop.

I can't really get on the drive without it acting severly
sluggish, whenever I click on my main folder it says
"E: isn't formatted" (it was).

I've tried to run PC Inspector and Pandora Recovery
and neither have worked. I ran "Analyze" on Disk
Defragmenter and it says it cannot because there is
corruption in E:/MPB.

Any ideas as to what to do?
