Hi,
I just bought a Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive 160GB Essential Edition, 7200 rpm, USB 2.0 interface. It stopped working less than a week. The computer can't recognize the hard drive after the USB cord is connected (it also makes a humming sound). I always followed the instruction when disconnecting it from my computer. I was wondering if anyone ever has the same problem. If so, is there anything I can fix it myself? If not, I'm gonna return it. Does anyone know how to format the harddrive? I probably can't do it because the harddrive isn't even recognized by the computer? Thanks for any advice.
